Letter from President Bryan Hunter

 

We are pleased to announce that our clan chief, Madame Pauline Hunter of Hunterston, is planning a visit to the United States this October 2018!  She and Graham will attend The Stone Mountain Games at Stone Mountain, GA, the weekend of October 19-21.  You are encouraged to make you own plans to come as well to welcome her or perhaps meet her for the first time.  We are hoping for a large representation from our clan members!  If possible, please wear Hunter tartan.

 

A Clan Hunter dinner is planned for that Saturday night (Oct 20) beginning at 7:00 P.M. at the Burns Cottage of Atlanta.  This special venue is the only replica in the world of the Robert Burns' Cottage in Scotland and is located at 988 Alloway Place, SE, Atlanta, GA 30316.  Cost of the dinner is $50.00 per person, and the cottage capacity is 100 people.  You will find a reservation form here.  The completed form can be mailed to our clan secretary, Margaret Slaton (see info below), with a check made payable to Clan Hunter Association, USA or emailed to 2018ClanHunterDinner@gmail.com after making your payment via PayPal.  This offer is on a first come - first served basis.  If more than 100 requests for reservations are submitted, we will begin a waiting list.  Any reservations submitted without the $50.00 payment will be deleted after September 20, and those slots will be offered to folks on the waiting list in order of request.

 

The dinner promises to be a grand affair, so we sincerely hope that you will make your plans to attend it and the games at Stone Mountain.  Be sure to come to the Clan Hunter tent (yellow cover) to visit, snack, rest, and enjoy the camaraderie!  An added plus is that our very own Clan Hunter piper is planning to attend!  Perhaps he will lead us around the clan village to salute the other clan tents!
